Homemade Gift Idea

Monday, December 22, 2008

There has been lots of Homemade gift giving here in our house this year. I always Bake for the neighbors and it seems to always be well received too! This year I went with a Cinnamon Loaf, I made a tester loaf a few weeks back for the family to try in it was gone in 2 days. My thought was, our friends could warm the bread and be eating on Christmas morning while they are celebrating and opening gifts. I wrapped them in tissue paper and tulle with perfect accenting ribbon and a special message. We already received some Homemade gifts this weekend that were almost devoured already. In our house baked good don't last too long. Do you give Homemade Baked goods this time of year? A Huge Thank you to all of you for all the Kind words and Prayers for my mom. It means the world to me, mom is home and had a pretty good weekend.Have a Wonderful Week with all your Families and stay Warm! *Jamie*

Oh, so glad to hear that your mom is home and had a "pretty good" weekend.

I make cream cheese pumpkin rolls at Christmas time. They are always a big hit and definitely "a labor of love" *smiles*

Sorry about the mix up with the e-mails. I have been keeping you and your mom in my prayers as well as Kecia's son. I may not be able to keep things straight all the time, but I'm sure the good Lord does!

The cinnamon bread looks so good and the gift wrap is so pretty. I have not baked from scratch in so many years, I don't remember when I did last. I did do the making candy thing several years ago, and my house smelled like chocolate, vanilla, etc. for so long - it was like it penetrated everything. The last several years, I have given plants, bottle of wine, etc. Happy Hanukkah to your family.

I just read your post regarding your mom. I'm so glad that the doctors have a plan and that your mom is home.

I know just how you feel. My dad is 86 and my mother is 76. My father is in failing health and it's been so hard. He keeps telling me that it's a part of life to lose ones parents and that it's something everyone goes through, but it is so very hard to watch our parents grow old.

May God bless you with strength.
