Happy Friday my Sweet Friends. Are you Thrilled it's the Weekend? I am.. This week just kicked my butt for some reason. I wanted to share some shots of my Bottle Collection, Most of them I Created, one I was a gift. I Love Old Bottles and you all Know I Adore Vintage Jewelry. I've been soldering for three and half years and love it, although, I haven't had a chance to solder anything in months. I decided to display my little Collection the other day, I actually had them all scattered around the house. I think it makes a Beautiful Statement when you group things together. Happy Friday...I Love Color! Just had to say that First. I think with the Winter Months, even here in Southern California, not to much blooming and the Winter Blahs, Color really appeals to me. Lately, I've been Creating pieces using arrays of Rich Color. I Hope you had a Fabulous Holiday Long Weekend. I had a house full of Teens visiting and Eating and Eating and Eating. Here is a Follow up to the Paint Chip Sample Banner.. I used more of my Handy Dandy Paint Chips as "Place Cards" for the Thanksgiving Table. I actually painted these Yellow to tie in with the Sunflowers and just added the names and tied them to the Napkins. Easy Peasy cost me Zip and took minutes. I Love how they looked and just another Creative Use for the Old Samples. I'll share a few more soon.....

Here is a Fun Idea to Create for almost Nothing using Paint Chip Samples~ I will Admit, when Im in Home Depot or Lowes I always grab a handful of Samples for "who knows what!" I Love the Colors and now several of the Paint Companies are making them in Fun Eye Catching Shapes. Believe me, Ive spent enough Damn money in these stores to warrant taking a few Paint Chip Samples! So.... Here is what I did with some Behr Samples....Made a Fun Colorful Thanksgiving Banner. I used some Black and White Ribbon I already had and Presto for NOTHING I have a colorful Banner that I Love. Next time, Ill show you another Fun Idea to do with Paint Chip Samples...Start Collecting them up Ladies...

Saturday With Autumn~

I Realized recently that I haven't done a Autumn Post in a very long time. Her Sunday visits have turned into Saturday visits and aren't as frequent as we would like, her Mom is a busy nursing student so time isn't on our side. Here is a little update~
She is 3 1/2 going on 16
She talks to you in Paragraphs about everything under the sun
She is 100% Potty Trained with her Mom breathing a big sigh of relief
As cute and Petite and Girlie as she looks she is a total Tom Boy
She is a Disney Movie Lover and watches them all and knows every word to every song from each movie
She is going to be Aladdin for Halloween, (not Jasmine!) She loves Aladdin and his White Vest!
Her Best Friend besides Elijah at our house is Tucker our 6lb Yorkie, (that friendship took 3 years) they are Buddies
She loves to play on the computer and do any kind of art
And.. She started Pre School a few weeks ago and as she likes to tell every one threw up on the first day, due to nerves. (the cutest story to hear her tell)
Saturday's with Autumn include,
Swimming, Bubbles, eating Peanuts with Papa on the patio, Disney Songs on Youtube with Emily, Art, Chalk on the driveway, playing with Elijah's old toys and taking the dogs for a walk!
Before I know it she will be going to Prom! Sighhhhhhhh

Home Schooling End of Week 3

~ Well I won't Lie, it's a BIG adjustment, for ALL of us. The whole Organization of my Time has been the most difficult. Since Emily is at school a few days a week, each weeks schedule is different and I have to constantly adjust my time and the things I need to get accomplished around. The Priority is School so I keep that in the fore front of my brain and try to work around everything else.

The Positive:
She took her first History Test and Scored an A!
She is retaining Information week to week.
She has better focus this week and has made our schooling a Priority.

Not so Positive:
Much more work and prep than I even thought.
Really cut into my Jewelry Creating Time!!
11th Grade English is for the Birds...

~ A Leap of Faith.......Our Jump Into Home Schooling

Yes, You did read that Correctly! After many, many years of Struggling in school, IEP's, Advocates and a Daughter just feeling like Crap about herself and her Education, I just couldn't deal with it one more minute. I could see the Defeat in her Eyes and in her Voice, year after year. Last June, we decided enough and I told her she wasn't going back, I would School her here at home. I still get a lump in my throat when I think of that very minute.

By sheer Fate, I logged onto her's School district Website and like a ton of bricks hitting me on the head, the School district was starting a Home School Program. I read about the Program and sent off my Email and heard back from the Director in less than 24 hours. Several Meetings later, My Hubby, Emily and Myself knew this was the right placement for her. Their Program is a Hybrid Program, which means she can take up to two classes at the H.S. classes online and classes taught to her by me. This could not be any more Perfect for Emily.

She takes two classes at her H.S. and is with her friends and peers, one class on line and three with me at the dining room table. This is a Pilot Program, which took the Administrator a year to convince the School Board to approve and I can't tell you how Blessed we are to have stumbled into it.

I have to Laugh now, at all the Comments and Emails I have received when friends hear the Path we are taking. I guess they know me and know Emily and figure I must have a Screw or two loose! Well, next time I'll tell you how it's going and the Good News is, Emily and I are both still Talking.....(barely) No, Just Kidding...
